Arbor Acres Wellness Manager Stormie Bruce is a passionate advocate for active aging, supporting wellness initiatives that empower older adults to thrive, regardless of where they live.
Her enthusiasm contributed to Arbor Acres serving as an official host site recently for Active Aging Week 2025 sponsored by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA). This initiative, which was celebrated nationwide, honored the vitality, resilience, and contributions of older adults to their communities.
According to Stormie, “Active aging is a movement. It promotes the idea that everyone, regardless of age, socioeconomic background, or health condition, can live fully and actively across the seven dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, vocational, and environmental.”
“Active aging is about possibility,” she adds. “It’s about helping people discover what they can do, not what they can’t. We see older adults redefining what it means to age every day.”
Her enthusiasm and knowledge were on full display during her recent interview on WFMY News 2 TV where she revealed some of the secrets to staying young.
