Artist Spotlight, September 2026: Zena Lee, Housekeeper

Enjoy getting to know Zena, one of our longtime employees!

“When I moved from New York to Winston-Salem, a friend who worked at Arbor Acres told me how much she enjoyed it, and it sounded like a place I would enjoy, too. 26 years later, I am still happy and still enjoy my job.

In my free time, I have been renovating my home—an old Southern house built in 1938 with lots of character. I have enjoyed remodeling and updating it, and the process has helped rejuvenate my living space.

I have always valued being an Arbor Acres Artist and the Artistry I bring to the team. For me, that means creating and maintaining a clean, beautiful environment. I take pride in showing that artistry every day by bringing beauty to all I do.

I was part of the original housekeeping team when the Stockton building opened. Some of my favorite memories were seeing the excitement on residents’ faces as they moved in. I will always remember one specific resident with a wonderful sense of humor who was always kind to me. My favorite memories center on the relationships I have built with residents and staff over the past 26 years. I was grateful to see Arbor Acres grow with the Stockton building years ago, and I have loved seeing the growth happening now. I am thankful to be part of this community.”
