Kimberlee Wyrick, RN Nurse Manager, 3rd shift, lives an incredibly busy and inspiring life.
She is a foster-adoptive mom, a new grandmother, a caregiver to her parents, and an aunt of many, including two nieces who live with her. She is also a chicken farmer and gardener!
Kimberlee has worked all over the world, from Quebec, Canada to Niger, West Africa. In addition, she has spent many years in the U.S. sharing her nursing skills working in geriatrics, hospice, and a maximum-security prison.
“I can honestly say that, outside of my time in West Africa, Arbor Acres is the best place I have worked,” she says with passion.
Kimberlee joined the Arbor Acres Nursing Arts team in January 2023 after hearing very good things about the work environment for nurses.
“I enjoy the teamwork, the compassion, and the care shown by staff toward the residents,” she enthuses. “The supportive environment, and the fact that there’s always someone willing to help or answer my questions is so important.
“I work with a great group of night shift staff. The nurses and nursing assistants on this shift are incredibly cooperative—we back each other up as much as needed.”
Recognizing Kimberlee’s limited time for fun and celebration, one of her nursing assistants came to her to ask if the third-shift nursing team could organize a Valentine’s Day party for each other. Kimberlee immediately replied “Yes!” They brought dishes to share and expressed appreciation for the wonderful opportunity to get to know each other better on a personal level.
“This was definitely one of my best experiences ever,” said Kimberlee. “We definitely want to do more of this!”
Kimberlee looks forward to continuing to better serve the residents under her care as well as her and her co-workers.
“I love being a nurse, even though there are many challenging days because of the nature of our work,” she says.
Above all, she and her husband are devoted to the loves of their lives, sons Nicolas and Isaac.
