Employee Testimonials
Everything I do every day is to make life easier for the next person. I take pride in what I do, and I do everything to the best of my ability.
The residents I have worked with have become like family to me and I treasure every moment with them.
My favorite thing about working here is knowing that when a resident calls, day or night, we are there to care.
In the short time that I have been here, I feel like I’ve found a group of people who are engaged in what they are doing with a high level of competency.
This is the most beautiful workplace I have ever seen! I have felt at home here ever since I started here.
The residents are treated so well, and all of the staff go above and beyond to make our community the best it can possibly be.
There is a sense of community and family. You become friends with quite a few residents, and they become family.
When a friend told me about an open position, I jumped on the opportunity because I knew how special Arbor Acres is, having first experienced this beautiful community as a family member.
Artist Spotlight, August 2025:
Martha Murphy, Marketing Arts Specialist
At Arbor Acres, we refer to our employees as “Artists.” Our Artists display the values of Arbor Acres: Artistry, Reverence, Talent, Innovation, Service, and Truth. Together, these values form ARTIST and remind us of who we are.
Get to know our talented Artist Spotlight for August: Martha!
“In 2004, my mother was admitted to Arborview [memory care] at Arbor Acres. My mother received incredible care—I couldn’t have been more grateful. At the end of 2016, I jumped on the opportunity to join the Marketing department because I knew how special Arbor Acres is, having first experienced this beautiful community as a family member.
As Marketing Arts Specialist, my responsibilities include serving as Advantage Program coordinator, offering tours to prospective residents and their families, developing social media stories, writing newsletters to members on our wait list, pitching stories to the media, and event planning. I represent Arbor Acres at outside events we sponsor.
The ARTIST value of ‘truth’ has always resonated for me as a guiding personal value. It invites honesty, sincerity, and integrity in all I think, say, and do.
For 2025, I decided to practice what I preach about downsizing before one needs to! I inherited lots of memorabilia from my family and have started to let it go. Once I’m done, I plan to purchase new furniture and redesign my home space in a way that makes it uniquely my own.
One of my favorite stories involves working with a prospective resident, and her brother and future sister-in-law to find them homes. They all ended up moving here around the same time and living across the street from each other—quite by chance!”
Martha embodies the values we hold dear at Arbor Acres, and we are so grateful for all she brings to our community!
