Mary Beth Beck-Henderson

I was a Social Worker and a Family Educator for 29 years before accepting a call to divinity school and completing my residency for chaplaincy. Everything I have ever done has prepared me for this work and I absolutely love it. I was drawn to Arbor Acres because of the opportunities it provides for building and maintaining relationships. When I am trusted by a resident or staff member who may be hurting, I consider that to be quite a gift. To be invited into people’s lives is a privilege that I don’t take lightly and being a chaplain at such a special place allows me to use my passions for spiritual care within a community that respects and loves senior adults.

My hope is always that people will feel welcomed and heard. Meeting people where they are, listening, empathizing, and helping problem-solve are some of my strengths, which feels like a good fit for Spiritual Arts at Arbor Acres.
