David Piner - President
For more than 25 years, my entire professional career, I have enjoyed serving in the company of elders, the satisfaction of advancing a noble mission, and the joy of work among caring professionals. Imagine a job that employs one's every talent and interest, whether you're a sports enthusiast (which I am not) or theatrically and artistically inclined (which I am). I love that my work allows me to write, to create beautiful environments, and to serve remarkable people. They say I run the place. Actually it runs me. They call me "the boss" but I'm clear who the real bosses are and I wouldn't have it any other way. |

Ken Boyles - Vice-President/Chief Financial Officer
Keeping the finances in order is a challenge for an organization such as ours. My staff and I are involved with the numbers and the details which are an essential part of maintaining the financial viability of any organization. My responsibility at Arbor Acres comes down to seeing that the dollars get into the right bucket as they are received, come out of the right bucket as they are spent and to be sure the bucket does not get empty. |

Lurana Day, Vice President/Chief Operating Officer
What is it that sets Arbor Acres apart as a special place of service, caring and excellence? In short, it is the people. Residents who are full of life, enthusiasm and positive thinking; staff who love what they do and feel blessed to live out a mission every day; and all of the board members, volunteers, family members and community supporters that all work together to make Arbor Acres exceptional. |

Jeff Hoover, Director of Dining Services
Imagine a restaurant where the same customers come every day. Residents are selective and discerning. That is my challenge: exceeding their expectations with choices, delicious meals, and excellent service. We know dining is very special at Arbor Acres, and we do our utmost to provide the quality that residents have come to know and expect. |
 |
Janice Lutz-Vanhoy - Director of Recreational Services Working at Arbor Acres in Recreation has been a joy. I cherish all the friendships I've made with residents, their families, and my colleagues. In my eighteen years at Arbor Acres I have had the opportunity to work with three generations in some families. Providing opportunities for residents to stay connected with their communities and within the community of Arbor Acres is an integral and rewarding aspect of my position. |
 |
Rachel Gladstone, Director of Resident Services
I enjoy working with all the residents at Arbor Acres, from those in independent living to residents who live in the Fitzgerald Health Center. Getting to know their families is an integral part of my job. We work together, residents, families, and staff, to make sure residents are comfortable, happy and, safe. |

Lynn Ross, Director of Marketing & Public Relations
I love my job. My favorite part? Meeting the folks who are considering one of the most important changes in their lives, relating to them, developing a relationship with them, understanding their needs as they consider a move into a retirement community, and explaining all Arbor Acres has to offer. Mostly though, I love hearing their life stories. That never ceases to fascinate me. |
 |
Tonja Wimmer, Director of Nursing
Being nurse has always been my passion. I truly enjoy the geriatric population and feel that this is more than a job to me. It is my calling. |
 |
Pat Hunter, Director of Development I have been raising funds in the greater Winston-Salem community for non-profit organizations for nearly 20 years. My role is to provide excellent stewardship to donors, reaching out to individuals, corporations and foundations in the community to financially support Arbor Acres. Our Financial Assistance funds are the cornerstone on which the future of Arbor Acres is built...helping older adults come to Arbor Acres, who have outlived their financial resources, and providing them a continuum of care, security, and contentment. |
 |
Les Cranfill, Director of Properties Development Over the 11 years I've been at Arbor Acres I've made great friends here. Colleagues, yes, but mostly with a resident population that appreciates what we can do for them, whether they've lived here one year or twenty. One of my greatest joys is working along side new residents creating the home they want as they enter and helping them transition to a new lifestyle. |
 |
Katherine Luke, Wellness Coordinator I was drawn to Arbor Acres because my professional goal as a fitness consultant is geared towards Senior Fitness. I have one passion in life: beneficial exercising. I want to share this with the residents of Arbor Acres so they can feel as great as they possibly can.

L.D. Burton, Director of Facilities Services
My job is both challenging and rewarding. There is a wonderful sense of cameraderie within the staff and the residents are extremely great to work for. I can think of no better place to work. |
 |
Douglas Suggs, Chaplain
As the director of Spiritual Life, my responsibility is to provide worship, pastoral care, and counseling for residents, their families, and our staff. I enjoy working at Arbor Acres because of its people, a compassionate and committed staff, interesting, loving residents and families, all brought to this special place where we have the opportunity to share together in the sacredness of life. |
